Open Source Contribution

Open-source software is one of the most potent tools modern bioinformaticians need at their disposal. It enables individual researchers to harness the power of the development of the scientific communities, instead of starting from scratch. This is cost-effective, valuable, and is changing the landscape of the bioinformatic community.

El-Maven

El-MAVEN is an open source mass spectrometry data processing engine that is optimal for LC-MS data from isotopomer labeling and global metabolomic profiling experiments. The project was originally developed as MAVEN at the Rabinowitz Lab at Princeton University. Over the last year, Elucidata has revamped the software architecture of the tool to make it capable of handling large datasets - tens of GBs (also in terms of number of samples). In the process, we have also made it faster and more robust.
